WEBSITE TERMS & CALCULATOR INFORMATION
Clear information for better decisions.
How to use this website, renovation cost guides and budget calculators. Your written project agreement sets the terms for work on your home.
Planning information, not a project quote
Website descriptions, cost guides and calculator results help you explore renovation options. They do not create a contract, reserve a construction date or establish a fixed price. A site assessment, agreed scope, selections and written project documents are needed before work proceeds.
How to interpret the calculators
Calculator results are illustrative planning estimates based on the options you enter and model assumptions. A range does not account for every condition in your home. Actual quantities, preparation, access, material selections, trade work and market prices can differ.
Review the assumptions and exclusions displayed by the calculator. Legal suites, structural work, foundation or water-remediation work and other special requirements may need separate assessment and pricing. A calculator does not determine code compliance or whether a proposed layout is feasible.
Taxes, allowances and contingency
The calculators display GST at 5% and PST at 6% as planning assumptions. The treatment applicable to an actual transaction must be confirmed in the project estimate and invoicing. Cost-guide ranges should be read with their stated tax and contingency basis.
Contingency is a planning reserve for uncertainty, not a guarantee that every unexpected condition is covered. Allowances are provisional amounts for specified items and can change when selections or quantities are confirmed.
Cost-plus estimates and changes
Oakridge’s project estimates define the scope, allowances and exclusions under a cost-plus approach. Actual project costs and work determine billing under your agreement. Changes to selections or scope, and concealed conditions, can affect both price and timing.
Project examples and schedules
Photographs and case studies show individual projects. Historical project investments apply to those particular scopes and are not current quotes for another home. General construction timelines are planning guidance; the schedule for your project depends on its scope, approvals, lead times and conditions.
Permits and technical information
General renovation information on this website is not a substitute for site-specific structural, design, code or other professional assessment. Applicable requirements depend on the work and the authority responsible for the property. Consult current official guidance and the appropriate professionals.

External award, accreditation and municipal links lead to organizations with their own content and terms. Forms and review feeds may be supplied by third-party providers. Inclusion of a link does not mean Oakridge controls that service or guarantees its continued availability.
