Remodel Your Kitchen For Maximum Storage and Light

Remodel Your Kitchen For Maximum Storage and Light

Your kitchen is arguably the most used room in your home. It’s where you cook your favourite meals and sit together and bond with your family. But after spending years in the same house, the kitchen can become awfully cramped. You’ve likely collected a lot of stuff over the years and don’t have as much room as you used to.

Remodeling your kitchen gives you a chance to increase its storage space and add light so it looks bigger.

Here are some ways you can maximize storage and add light to your kitchen:

Shrink the Living Room

If you don’t use the living room much, you have the option of making it smaller and increasing the size of your kitchen.

Many houses have a formal living room that’s reserved for “special” gatherings; but is there a need for such places? How often is your formal living room actually used?

The right remodeling company can come up with a plan that shrinks your living room without making it look too cramped, and expands your kitchen space so you have extra storage.

You can also try placing lights in front of mirrors and/or reflective surfaces to make the place look bigger.

Store Efficiently

Modern cabinets come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Not only are they designed to maximize storage, but they also come in a variety of designs and colours.

You can install base cabinets with rollout trash cans and position recycling receptacles adjacent to the sink.

The cabinet containing the butcher block top can be installed at the end of the island, with drawers and a sliding plastic top for the storage of lightweight items or snacks.

You can even use full-extension glides for rollouts and drawers to give you maximum access to your storage spaces.

Glass front cabinets also are very convenient places to store dinnerware; they also give your kitchen an open-feel. Installing lighting in glass fixtures can give the illusion of more space.

Using Wall Space

The simplest way to increase storage space in your kitchen is to add lots of shelves. Shelves allow you to use up wall space efficiently so you don’t have to worry about stuffing your utensils into your drawers.

We can add drawers and hooks to your walls for you to hang your ladles, pots and pans.
